The Governors of Compass School Southwark are very pleased to have appointed two Parent Governors to join our governing body.
LISA SALKELD-TOWNSLEY – Elected
I feel that I would be a beneficial asset to your governing body, I am parent governor at Southwark Park Primary School and have been for over 1 year now. I also work at Rotherhithe Primary school I am a learning mentor and part of the safeguarding team. I have 17 years’ experience in my current school and have been in many roles including teaching assistant, outreach worker and coordinator assistant, midday supervisor, I was acting attendance officer for 6 months covering another member of staff and now my current position learning mentor. I have a wealth of knowledge and understanding of what is expected to be part of the governing committee. One of my biggest reasons for applying for this post is I am very passionate about supporting and being involved in my child’s school, education and wellbeing. Therefore, I am also parent govern at my younger children’s school, I am acting governor for mental health and wellbeing. I also attended your parent governor meeting to show interest and have already been in talks with several other parents to encourage them to complete this application too, so if I’m not a successful candidate you will have someone as passionate as myself that would support and help the school to thrive further.
