Work is well on the way on our new building which was approved by the Mayor of London last year. With state-of-the-art learning and sports facilities, the new Compass School building will facilitate fantastic education for our young people.
The school is an integral part of the Grosvenor Britain & Ireland’s masterplan for the area and it’s being built first. That means pupils can move into a brand new bespoke campus and get learning as soon as possible!
From Science labs to a rooftop multi-use games arena and exceptional visual and performing arts facilities, the new Compass School is an inspiring learning environment, with everything pupils need to thrive.
Work has started preparing the neighbouring site for the new Compass school to be erected. Meanwhile, demolition contractors, Keltbray have been working closely with the school and community to ensure there is minimal disruption to local residents and the school during this phase. ISG Ltd. who secured the DfE contract to build the school have been holding bi-weekly meetings with the school to review the state-of-the-art plans.
“This is truly and exciting time for or community as we are finally seeing boots on site and our school being built.” Marcus Huntley, Principal.
Portraits of local people
Grosvenor Britain & Ireland commissioned world renowned portrait artist Barry Falls, to produce a series of illustrated portraits of local people to feature on the building site hoarding graphics, printed materials and online. Mr Huntley was delighted to be invited to participate alongside former Brooklyn Barton, a former pupil who, during her 5 years at Compass, was the epitome of our values.
