Online learning

At Compass School Southwark there are lots of opportunities for online learning. Some of the key benefits are:

    • Learning at your own pace
    • Accessible at home and at school
    • Progress is measured and reported to teachers

Students are now able to access their homework online via Show My Homework. To access this, please go to

MyMaths logo

My Maths allows teachers to set maths homework tasks personalised to each student’s learning needs.  If students find a homework task hard, there is a step by step lesson with each task refresh students’ learning.  Behind the scenes teachers can monitor progress towards each level and diagnose gaps in individual learning.

Please remember if a student does not score 80% on a homework task, they have not fully understood the topic and must try again!

Lexia is a programme designed to rapidly develop student reading skills.  Students work through various levels and collect coins for each new skill they master.  The software adjusts the work to the needs of the individual students so that they learn at their own pace.  Each students’ progress is monitored by teachers so that support can be given where required and certificates issued when levels are completed. Students receive two sessions of Lexia a week at school but should be completing at least two more fifteen minute sessions at home each week.Tips when using Lexia at home:

  1. Schedule Lexia as a routine for early evenings and on the weekend.
  2. Make sure Lexia is used in a quiet room (headphones are a good idea).
  3. Please encourage students but do not help in any way.
  4. During the school holidays, aim to complete a minimum of 6 x 15 minute sessions per week.
